PLEASE NOTE: Beginning with the 2015/2016 school year, all funding awards from the Student Allocations Board will be subject to this policy.
When the Student Allocations Board (SAB) awards funding to a student organization, the budget as awarded by the Board dictates how those funds can be spent. For example, funds allocated for decorations for a banquet could not be spent on a different event or even a different aspect of the same event. However, to afford flexibility to student organizations, the SAB has implemented the Reallocation Policy.
Student organizations may request a reallocation of their funds through the below form. Once the form is submitted and verified to be fully and appropriately filled, the SAB will consider the request at their next general meeting. You can find a complete list of SAB meeting dates on the Student Organization Funding Policies and Procedures website. The SAB must provide a written explanation for any denial of reallocation requests.
Please note, to help afford further flexibility to student organizations, the SAB permits reallocation of up to 15% of a group's total budget to be processed by CSI without approval from the Board. This total is tracked cumulatively, so once the value of 15% of an organization's budget has been reallocated (for example, a total of $300 reallocated in a $2,000 budget), all future reallocation requests from that organization must be considered by the Board. NOTE: To encourage use of existing funds by organizations, SAB has pre-approved all reallocations up to 25% of an organization's budget through the end of the 2017-18 fiscal year due to a shortage in supplemental funding.
