Platform 2017-2018

Message from the President

Dear University of Baltimore:

As we bring in the new academic year, it is important that we set a strong foundation for professional and scholastic success. The SGA is completely devoted to serving the UB community through transparent and comprehensive representation, addressing the needs and concerns of our diverse student body.

It is pertinent for students to understand that the SGA is here to work for you. In doing so, this year the SGA is putting a strong emphasis on improving campus and student life through increased collaborations with other student organizations and university offices.

To pioneer our collaborative efforts, the SGA has set aside $7,000 towards co-sponsorships that student organizations may apply for. This semester we will also be debuting an SGA Travel Grant, geared towards students in need of financial assistance for study abroad and traveling opportunities, which I believe are just as important as in-class learning to a holistic educational experience.

I encourage you join us during our weekly senate meetings held on Wednesdays from 4:00pm- 5:30pm, where we reserve Open Forum so that you may voice your concerns and share your ideas. Meeting locations and details may be found on the SGA Org Sync page.

We look forward to working with campus administrators, faculty/staff and more importantly students, as we move to advance the University of Baltimore community. Lastly, please find below the official 2017-2018 SGA Platform to get a complete overview of what the SGA will do for you this year.

Sincerely Yours,
Mariame Dangnokho UBSGA President
